I have had the pleasure of being part of the team for 16 years. Starting as a senior care team member to the Care and Training Manager. Read House is a happy home, full of laughter and smiles, and we find and give the support we need each day from each other. I feel privileged to be part of the Read House family.
I took the role of General Manager of Essex Blind Charity in January 2021 having worked as Community Services Manager, managing Essex Sight, the Charity’s community services arm. As the Nominated Individual I have the responsibility, alongside Juliet, of ensuring that Read House is always compliant with the myriad of regulations for care homes. I very much enjoy my weekly visits to the home and seeing the difference we make to the lives of the residents.
I am so proud to be the Registered Manager at Read House. In the last few years, I was working as an Interim Manager running up and down the country helping care homes with management issues, or those which had been badly hit with covid. When I came to be the Interim Manager at Read House, I knew that I had found my place and I put away my suitcase. What I saw at Read House was the bones of an exceptional care home and I am now working hard to bring about a change in the culture, moving it from task driven to holistic. If you would like to talk to me, then please, just pop by, my door is always open.
