Read House comprises 36 en-suite rooms, Accommodation is over three floors which are serviced by a lift or stairs. Our ground floor is called Greensward and some of these rooms have direct access onto the garden, the front rooms overlook the greensward and the sea. The Greensward floor is where our most independent residents live. On the 1st floor we have Marine Bay, and these rooms benefit from either sea or garden views. Some of these rooms are large enough to provide a separate seating and/or dining area. Marine Bay is where our residents who require assistance, particularly those with compromised mobility live. Our 2nd floor is called Treetops and these room also have views either over the sea or our garden. Some of these rooms are large enough to provide a separate seating and/or dining area. Our residents in Treetops are generally living with memory loss (dementia). All rooms have a nurse call system installed. Residents are welcome to bring items from home to personalise their rooms. Communal Lounges & Dining Areas

Marine Bay and Treetops each have their own lounges and kitchenette/dining areas, which can be used at any time by our residents and their visitors.

Our large day centre and dining room provide plenty of space for group activities and parties.

Visiting Facilities

Greensward has a dedicated visiting area with direct access from our car park.  This room was built specifically so that visiting during the recent pandemic could continue. The current Government guidelines for visiting mean that we can invite friends and family into the home, but this facility remains available for use.

Garden

We are so fortunate to not only have beautiful sea views but to also have access to our private lawned garden. The garden has a level pathway all the way round to enable residents to walk or access the garden in a wheelchair.
